Losing a child is an indescribable pain, a weight that feels like an endless burden on the soul. In those moments, the exhaustion is more than physical—it’s a weariness that seeps into the very core of your being, making you question the strength to continue.
Embracing the Unyielding Strength Within
Continuing to live after the loss of my daughter has proven to be the most arduous task I’ve ever faced. Yet, within this soul-tired exhaustion lies an unyielding strength—a testament to the resilience dwelling deep within.
I’ve often heard it said that Creator/God/Source gives his strongest warriors the hardest battles. While this belief doesn’t make the battle any easier, it brings a perspective that resonates with the challenges faced after loss. Some days, I’m enraged, screaming at the divine for taking my baby. Other days, I find myself in a waking slumber, scraping the barrel of motivation to complete mundane tasks.
The Full Spectrum of Emotion
In between, there are moments when a smile or a laugh breaks through the darkness. I’ve learned to embrace this full spectrum of emotion as a reminder that, even in the depths of soul-tired exhaustion, I am living, breathing, and gradually healing.
